It was a Nonfiction Summer!
Best nonfiction book I read this summer was a biography of Steve Jobs. It's a fascinating look at a man who impacted so many. He was intense to the point of rudeness at times, but wow, he made an impact!
A close second for my favorite nonfiction title is Bill O'Reilly's Killing Lincoln. It tells the story of the last few weeks of the Civil War from the points of view of many different participants including President Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth. With the 150 year anniversary of the Gettysburg Address coming up this provides a lot of conversation starters!

Rot and Ruin
Students often ask what's the best new title in the library. That's always up for discussion, but this new one, Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry, has proved a hit with the lucky students who've checked it out!

Summer Reading Suggestions
For summer reading ideas try the Visual Search function in the HS Library's Online Catalog . If you're planning on taking SATs check out the College Board Reading List.
The number one recommended book to read for fun is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The sequel is Catching Fire and the final book in the trilogy, Mockingjay, is due out in August.
